Fraud Alert: Scam Text Messages
We have been made aware of a new scam involving text messages claiming to be from the SHAZAM Fraud Department.
Scammers are attempting to trick cardholders into providing sensitive debit card information.
Please remember:
SHAZAM Fraud Prevention already has the information needed to verify your debit card and will never ask you to provide your full card number or the last several digits to verify your identity. Never share your debit card number, PIN, account number, online banking credentials, or one-time security codes with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly. If you receive a suspicious text message or phone call, do not respond and do not provide any personal or financial information. If anyone instructs you to purchase gift cards, mail cash, or send money to resolve a banking issue, it is a scam.
If you are ever unsure whether a message or phone call is legitimate, hang up and contact us directly at 575-769-1911 or the number printed on the back of your debit card. After normal business hours, you may also call the number on the back of your card to report your card lost or stolen.
Your security is important to us. If you believe you may have shared information with a scammer, please contact us immediately.
